Five in a Row Classes
The Mount Moriah Baptist Church Homeschool class is literature based. Students in grades K-3 will learn and sing using the Five in a Row curriculum by Jane Claire Lambert.
The class is held weekly, from 9:15 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays. This is not a co-op, a teacher is assigned to each class.
Students in the Homeschool Enrichment classes will read thirteen books together. Topics studied this year (2016) will include; vocabulary words, Social Studies, Geography, Language Arts, Art, Science and Math activities based on the literature they read.
Classes will also include basic Spanish and Bible lessons. The Language Arts portion of their studies will include discussion of literary devices, the elements of a story, and art terms. Each year, students review previous skills as well as learn new material.
Each day will begin with calendar skills and saying the pledges to the American flag, the Christian flag and the Bible and will include time for free, active play.
These are small classes intended to enrich a child’s home learning experience. The classes are not a replacement for core subjects taught at home. There is a discount available for families enrolling more than one child.
