Don’t Sign in at NCDNPE Before You Read This


Why Can’t I Sign On to My Account at NCDNPE?

If you are trying to sign in to your homeschool account at the NCDNPE website using your user information from the old system, it won’t work. You will need to  create a NEW user name and password to access your record, print your homeschool verification or update the system.

Steps to Obtain New User ID

Go to the www.ncdnpe.org  website so you can set up your online user name and password for the new system.

  • Choose “existing home school not in system” and enter your SCHOOL ID # and LAST NAME
  • The system will automatically send a temporary password to the email address on file. If you are not sure of the email account listed in your record, call the office to have this manually updated and then follow the steps.
  • Follow the instructions you receive in the system email to use your temporary password and create a new user and new password at the website.
  • You can then update each section of your record as you review it for any corrections that need to be made.
  • Important: “Save” each section even if you do not change anything

The new director of the NCDNPE (former homeschooling parent & educator, Diane Allen) is requesting that we each log on and update our homeschool’s enrollement to reflect current students.

This is not a requirement of the NC law, but if you are comfortable providing this information (no names or other identifying information are given) it is helpful for the state to track the growth of homeschooling and encouraging for other homeschooling parents to see the number of children learning at home.

Reporting Annual Testing

You can now add the type of test and the date at the website. Again, this is totally optional.

You do not need to mail physical test copies or results to the NCDNPE office, you DO need to keep them on file at home so that you can verify you are meeting the annual testing requirements of the homeschooling statutes.  

Homeschool Verification

Once you have updated your record at the website you will be able to print a verification record that you can use to get homeschool discounts.

The new Division of Non-Public Education (DNPE) Data Management System is designed to provide a secure way for us to report and manage information for our homeschools.  Once you have established a user ID and password you can easily access your homeschool information to make sure it is up to date and to let the state know that you are in compliance with the homeschool laws.
