How to Update NCDNPE

The North Carolina Division of Non-public Education continues to make improvements to their website that make our lives easier in so many ways. Now home educators can now do almost all their reporting online, you can request a Driver's Eligibility form online for your teens, print out a Homeschool teacher's card, and you can verify or update your homeschool information at their website too. NC Homeschoolers Outnumber Private School ...

People are choosing homeschooling over private schools, as an alternative education for their children in record numbers in North Carolina. Parental concern about drug use and negative peer pressure in schools are top reasons parents make the choice to teach their kids at home. Other reasons include a desire to share their own faith with their kids. Many parents simply want to take advantage of the opportunity to provide a "one-on-one" academic experience that students would be unable to receive at either a private or public school setting.


Is The Answer to Stopping ...

Recently, I have noticed a trend --any state that has minimal oversight over home schools is being pressured to increase oversight of all home educators. They are using the media to promote the idea that a lot of homeschoolers are abusers who will never be caught if their kids don't have to go to public school, or if more vague and mysterious "regulation" is not implemented. Cases such as that of Rowan county teen, Erica Parsons have rightly caused concern
